Leaving Martha’sVineyard and back to Boston

even the fall planter boxes are stunning

After breakfast Jim and I take a walk around town while Jay and Carrie go on a bike tour . My children have banned me from biking.

A couple of hours by the pool before we take the ferry back to Hyannis and drive to Boston

And we arrive back in Boston for the evening. We are staying at the Fairmont which is gorgeous.

We are pretty tired so we dine at the restaurant in the hotel. The guys have pork chops and the girls have salad…chicken on hers, lobster on mine.

Up in the morning for a walk thru town headed to the fire station. First a stop at the South Church where the Patriots met. Notice James Crawford who served at the church and held a Doctor of Divinity…no relation.

Something came up in my Fodor’s feed about the most beautiful libraries - #1 was Boston and it was right across the street from our hotel.

Gotta love a library with a bar.

This library is spectacular.

And now we just bide our time until our flight in 7 hours.

What a great trip….but clearly time to leave. Our weather has been beautiful, but tonight the showers move in.
