First night in Boston, dinner at Amber Rose and a walk through the city.

Jay leads us to the Black Rose to enjoy real authentic Irish music.

Next day we begin our tour of Boston, starting in Beacon Hill.

The real Cheers - but with a witch out front…sorry can’t figure out how to uncrop to show her hat.

And we board a Hop On Hop Off bus to tour the city.

A rest for us - but the Wickwares continue on. That’s Paul Revere’s house top right.

Dinner tonight is at Mamma Maria’s. When Carrie booked it months ago she told them it was an anniversary celebration- but we were ALL surprised when a dessert arrived.

Delicious!

3 of us call it a night, and Jay heads back to the Black Rose.

Before heading to Hyannis for our next 2 nights, we take in a quick shopping stop.

Carrie really wants to stop and see Plymouth Rock. Yep…that’s the rock upper left.

Berlin has its bears - but Plymouth has a couple of seals.

and on to Hyannis. Cute hotel on the harbor…

This was our view from dinner at the harbor.

Next day we are taking a day trip to Nantucket.

One hour ferry ride and we are there.

But before the ferry, Jim and I walk thru town while Jay and Carrie take the bikes for a spin. I have been restricted from riding a bike since Amsterdam.

Nantucket is a charming town….but extremely expensive. We saw a little metal sand bucket for $595!

Lunch is outside at the Brotherhood of Thieves

As we are walking through town, Carrie spots a little donut shop. Donuts from 8-noon….but it is now 3 p.m. Carrie spots a few boxes on the counter and offers to buy them, nope…not for sale. They are free…so off we go with a box of doughnuts.

And we head back to our hotel in Hyannis.

And a bite to eat at last night’s restaurant the Tugboat before we call it a night.

Tomorrow is an overnight trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Another one hour ferry ride.
