Jordan has a walk mapped out for us to see the highlights of Brugge - and it is a walk! 4.5 miles to the windmills, but we definitely see a lot of the highlights.

First stop Provincial Palace. A lot of empty large rooms.

Next to the Salvador Dali exhibition.

Frankly his quotes were better than his art.

On to the church - Basilica of the Holy Blood. There is a claim that there is a cloth with the blood of Christ behind the alter.

And on with the walk.

now a stop at the oldest brewery…

The third picture is the underground pipes that deliver beer all through Brugge - De Halve Maan.

And we continue towards the windmills.

Notice the raised bridge letting the boat through at the bottom.

And here is how we tour the windmill.

That’s Jordan waving from inside the windmill - he took a picture of me waving back and Jim is sitting below on a bench with a new found friend.

A little rest and time for dinner. We ask the hotel for a recommendation for lighter fare, and they say there is no such thing, Belgians like heavy food. We are on our own. The first restaurant we chose is closed for dinner. The second one has a logo that may not please our non fish eater.

And indeed everything in this restaurant contains fish, even the bread.

They recommend Quattro Vin - where we have an incredible dinner - all plates are shared.

We ate the tomato salad so fast, I didn’t even get a picture. In fact all the other dishes were partially eaten before I took a picture. The asparagus was at least 12 spears.

So delicious! Time to call it a night.

And I can report that Nick, Melissa, Livy and Nate made their flight out of Paris and are already home.
