We have an agenda for the day…not that we can stick to it, but we will begin with the right intentions. We book a tour of the aquarium and a 4D penguin movie - penguins are my favorite! Mike and Elena have been to the aquarium plenty of times, so we will meet up with them later. The 3 of us head out on an hour walk to the aquarium.

This facility is an architectural masterpiece.

We start through the exhibits.

Our penguin movie is at 1:30, but it’s 1:20 and we are entrenched in the dolphin show. Have to pass on the penguins.

Sitting in the shade in 85 degree weather is the place to be.

And then my penguins..

Rockhopper penguins too. I could have watched them all afternoon.

A moray eel in the center. Me on the right, Jim says I look pissed and maybe I was after missing my 13 minute penguin movie…..nah,it was an okay sacrifice.

We end up missing the world paella cook off too, the afternoon got away from us. The aquarium is a gigantic facility with highlights from sea life from areas all over the world.

But now we head back to meet Mike and Elena at the hotel.

My new favorite drink - a Valencia spritz

Elena tried Mike’s drink (Jordan had one too)- an aove sour..it is not her favorite drink. But her reaction is nothing like Jim’s when last night at dinner he grabbed a skewer of olives without really looking at the anchovy woven in the skewer. Wish I had captured that expression!

And I remembered a food picture..our burger snack

A little siesta and we are off to dinner. Get ready for the food.

Then chicken croquette served on little square cubes and a bed of straw

Pork in a gravy sauce

And I missed some of the dishes- fresh hot sourdough bread with whipped butter and rock salt, a main pasta dish and a couple of others. I just couldn’t capture everything!

Highly recommend the restaurant Conclave if you are ever in Valencia.
