New day, new country

We are bidding goodbye to Jay and Carrie today as they return home. But first Carrie and I decide to take another walk through the city. It is packed with tourists.

This is one of the lines for the Pantheon. Turns out those umbrellas to protect from the hot sun are about to come in very handy.

We pass a restaurant and I ask Carrie if the flowers are real, she says no, but they are pretty. She’s right.

We walk for almost 2 hours, but need to get back to catch a taxi for the airport. Literally one minute after we get back, the skies open up and torrential rain starts falling. And then the thunder starts.

We head for the airport, they are headed home and we are headed to Valencia, Spain No time for saying goodbye so we wave them off in a taxi.

We are almost 4 hours early for our flight - and then the flight is delayed for an hour.

We arrive in Valencia. First impressions driving in from the airport are that it’s a beautiful town - large streets and very unlike Rome the traffic is very organized and smooth flowing.

Jordan meets us at the front door of the hotel and takes over our very awkward luggage -so great to see him and such a help!

He says we are going for the #1 hamburger in the world. After 8 days straight of pasta this sounds great! So we start walking and I get a little nervous - are we going to Five Guys?

No - we are going to a restaurant named Hundred

It did not disappoint!

It was so delicious but now that we are full, we are calling it a night. Busy, long travel day.

Tomorrow we will meet up with Mike and Elena and see what adventures we can find.

But a parting picture of these hamburgers is called for.
